Nadab’s time in power was marked by a direct continuation of the flawed spiritual reality created by his father. Commentators note that his harmful leadership operated on two distinct levels. On a broad scale, he embraced his father's general lifestyle of doing wrong. On a more specific level, he actively perpetuated the core offense of his family line by maintaining the worship of the golden calves.

The foreign religious practices established in the previous generation were left completely intact. Rather than changing course, Nadab held firmly to these destructive habits and actively caused the entire nation to continue in their sin.
