This widespread happiness brought together all groups, including the community of Judah, the priests, the Levites, and those who traveled from the kingdom of Israel. Within the massive crowd of celebrants, special attention is given to the participation of converts. These were individuals who originally came from other nations of the world but chose to convert and join the community [מצודת דוד].
