In the midst of a fast-paced pursuit, a brief exchange takes place between a fleeing man and his pursuer. As Abner runs, he realizes that someone is closely chasing him. Wanting to be certain of the person's identity, Abner glances back over his shoulder without breaking his stride.

Seeing the man behind him, Abner calls out to ask if it is indeed Asahel. The pursuer does not hesitate to reveal himself, answering simply and directly to confirm his identity [ביאור שטיינזלץ].
