Following the advice they received, the surviving men of the tribe of Benjamin take action to rebuild their devastated community. To ensure the survival of their tribe, they acquire wives by capturing women who are out dancing and singing [מצודת ציון], taking them by force [מצודת דוד]. The total number of women taken corresponds exactly to the number of remaining men, ensuring that each man receives exactly one wife [מצודת דוד].

With their new families formed, the men of Benjamin return to their ancestral territory. Their immediate task is to reconstruct their homes, rebuilding the cities that had been burned and left in ruins by the rest of the Israelites during the recent war [מצודת דוד].
