True victory on the battlefield and the ability to overcome enemies do not rely on human power. Instead, they depend entirely on Divine assistance, which ensures absolute salvation. Guided by the holy spirit, the psalmist prophesies that he will ultimately triumph [אבן עזרא].

The primary approach among commentators is that when God provides His help, relying on flesh and blood becomes unnecessary. Through God's support, the Israelites find the strength and courage to build a mighty army, even when facing a multitude of enemies. Yet, while the people gather their forces and act with bravery, it is actually God who defeats the oppressors, trampling them completely like mud in the streets [רש״י, רד״ק, מצודת ציון, מצודת דוד, מאירי, ביאור שטיינזלץ].

A deeper perspective reveals a direct spiritual link between human behavior and Divine triumph. According to this view, the power needed for victory is not merely physical or military, but a spiritual force generated by fulfilling Commandments and performing good deeds. These righteous actions create a heavenly army of angels and, in a sense, add power to God Himself. As a result, it is God, or the spiritual force created by human action, who crushes the enemy. This spiritual partnership guarantees that the salvation will be both certain and everlasting [אלשיך].
