When a conflict reaches a point where no human authority can resolve it, the only remaining option is to seek Divine intervention. The appeal for God to judge between the two parties stems directly from the reality that there is no earthly judge capable of deciding the matter [מלבי״ם]. Along with this appeal for justice comes a plea for God to avenge the specific wrongs committed against the speaker [מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. This judgment and the resulting vengeance are expected to be executed directly by God Himself, without relying on any middleman or intermediary [מלבי״ם].

Yet, even while calling for heavenly justice, a strict personal boundary is drawn. Despite the desire for God to act, the speaker makes it completely clear that he will not harm his opponent himself, ensuring his own hands remain free of violence [ביאור שטיינזלץ].
