When making this appeal, he specifically invokes a title of God that highlights His absolute power and ability to save and assist humanity [אבן עזרא, רד״ק, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. Alternatively, this title is understood as an appeal to God's attribute of kindness, a call for the help needed to endure and withstand life's difficult trials [אלשיך].

Rooted in this profound faith, the psalmist asks God to listen closely and accept his prayer [רד״ק, המאירי]. Yet, this request goes far beyond a simple desire for a problem to be solved; it reveals a deep yearning for intimacy. He asks that God not merely supply his needs, but truly listen to the quality and specific details of his words, paying the kind of deep, devoted attention that loved ones give to one another [מלבי״ם].
