The family lineage progresses steadily through the generations, tracing the descent from father to son. The line continues with Salmon, a figure who is also identified by the alternate name Salmah [ביאור שטיינזלץ].

From this point, the family tree extends directly to Boaz. In turn, Boaz carries the ancestral heritage forward into the next generation by becoming the father of Oved.
