The timing of God's communication with the prophet is not random, but rather serves as a deliberate educational process for the people. When God speaks to him the following morning [ביאור שטיינזלץ], the delay is entirely intentional. The previous evening, the prophet had performed a series of symbolic actions in full view of the onlookers. Instead of providing an immediate explanation, God allowed the entire night to pass so the people would have the necessary time to process what they had witnessed.

By leaving them with their own thoughts, God intended for the people to take the events to heart and feel a natural urge to ask about the purpose behind the prophet's unusual behavior. Only after this overnight period of reflection, once morning arrived, did God command the prophet to speak. At this point, He instructed him to explicitly explain the true meaning and the deeper message behind his actions directly to the people [מלבי״ם].
