God's patience reaches a turning point, marking a sudden shift in how He deals with the people. The long period of waiting and holding back harsh judgments has finally come to an end. Every warning previously given will now be carried out without any further delay. Not a single detail or fraction of God's decrees will be postponed [מצודת דוד, מלבי״ם].

Historically, God issued severe warnings with a specific purpose: to wake the people up and encourage them to change their ways. These harsh messages were spoken with the hope that they would never actually need to be fulfilled. Because the goal was repentance, the punishments were often delayed or only partially brought to life. However, this approach has now changed. The final judgment is sealed, and the window of time left open for the people to repent has completely closed [מלבי״ם].

From this moment on, every message God delivers is intended for immediate action. What He speaks will be done, and it will happen quickly [מצודת דוד, מלבי״ם]. This sudden and rapid fulfillment of prophecy serves an additional purpose. It completely changes how the people view the prophet. Up until now, they suspected him of making up stories about the future. Once the warnings happen right before their eyes, all doubts will vanish, and he will be undeniably recognized as a true prophet whose words were entirely accurate [ביאור שטיינזלץ].
