יחזקאל, פרק י״ג, פסוק א׳

Ezekiel receives a fresh message as a direct response to a troubling reality. A group of false prophets has been actively denying and contradicting the earlier warnings he delivered to the people. Because of their constant denials, a new divine revelation comes to Ezekiel, aimed squarely at confronting these deceivers [אברבנאל].

Even though these individuals are referred to as prophets, the title is given to them simply because they are public speakers who deliver speeches to the crowds. It does not mean they experience any genuine connection with God or receive true divine inspiration. Instead, these false prophets invent their messages entirely from their own minds. Driven by their personal desires, they fake the word of God, speaking boldly despite never having seen an actual prophetic vision [אברבנאל].
