God's anger ultimately targets the exposure and total destruction of false prophecies, along with the people who spread them. When His wrath reaches its final, completed stage, it brings an absolute end to these illusions [מצודת ציון]. This divine anger focuses on two main elements: the metaphorical wall, representing the baseless false prophecies themselves, and the plasterers, representing the false prophets who disguise their lies with pleasant, fake rhetoric to make them look appealing [מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ].

This outpouring of anger is precisely targeted. It is directed specifically at Jerusalem and its false prophets, rather than being a sweeping destruction of the entire nation [מלבי״ם]. However, the devastation will not be limited only to those who invent the lies. The disaster will also strike the members of the public who support these prophets and willingly accept their words. Both the deceivers and their followers will perish together through sword, famine, or plague [רד״ק].

In the end, the false prophecies will be completely nullified and will never come true. Every fake reinforcement will collapse, and the prophets themselves will have no chance of recovery and will be wiped from the world [מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ].
