Ezekiel 13:8Sefaria

The actions of false prophets draw a severe and direct reaction from God. Their offense goes far beyond the social and spiritual damage they cause the nation; above all, it is a direct assault on the honor of Heaven. These false visions are not innocent mistakes. Instead, they represent a deliberate, conscious use of lies and divination, deceptively presented as the word of God [אברבנאל].

There is a dual guilt inherent in the actions of these individuals: they speak falsehoods in God's name, and they actively lead the people away from the proper path. Yet, the immediate justification for their punishment focuses entirely on the first offense. Merely inventing a prophecy and attaching God's name to it is a profound violation of His honor. This act alone makes them deserving of the most severe punishment, even before addressing the destructive impact their lies have on the general public [מלבי״ם].

Because of the extreme gravity of this offense, God issues an absolute threat against them. The message is unmistakable: God Himself is stepping forward to wage war against these false prophets [מצודת דוד]. This is a clear declaration that Divine wrath is being channeled directly at them, much like God turning His face against a specific person to ensure their punishment [רד״ק].
