Conceptually, this tearing represents the complete nullification of their magical tricks, rendering their illusions entirely powerless as if they never existed [מצודת דוד]. On a practical level, it symbolizes the actual downfall and death of the witches themselves, for only with their permanent removal will their dark practices truly vanish [רד"ק].

The ultimate purpose behind this divine action is to rescue the people from being led astray by false beliefs [מלבי"ם] and to prevent them from stumbling into the sin of magic [מצודת דוד].
