Once the detailed dimensions of the Temple's interior are fully recorded, the focus of the vision shifts outward. The measuring angel completes his work inside the complex, officially finishing the measurement of the inner house [מצודת ציון]. Commentators agree that this inner area is not limited to the central building alone. Rather, it encompasses all the surrounding courtyards and chambers, as their entire purpose is to serve and support the main Sanctuary [מצודת דוד, רד״ק, אברבנאל].

With the interior complete, the angel leads the prophet outside the walls of the Temple Mount [רד״ק, מלבי״ם, אברבנאל]. They exit through the eastern gate, a movement that closes a prophetic circle, as this is the exact same gate through which they first entered at the beginning of the vision [רד״ק, ביאור שטיינזלץ].

Once outside, the angel measures the full exterior perimeter of the Temple Mount wall across all four directions [רש״י, מצודת דוד, רד״ק, מלבי״ם, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. This final measurement of the outer boundary ultimately reveals the grand design of the complex: the Temple Mount is a perfect square, with every side exactly equal in length [אברבנאל].
