The guided architectural tour of the Temple complex continues, shifting its focus toward the eastern side of the compound. Following the earlier observation of the northern chambers, it becomes clear that similar structures exist in the east, situated in the space between the courtyard wall and the designated area known as the Gizrah. This intricate spatial layout is not something seen with physical eyes, but rather a design revealed entirely through a prophetic vision [רד״ק].

Anyone approaching from the base of the eastern mountain or walking along the eastern edge of the courtyard will encounter additional chambers along the way [מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. These structures extend westward from the wall, with the path leading directly to the chambers that face the Gizrah and the main building [מלבי״ם].

Navigating this specific area presents a unique spatial experience, though there are different perspectives on how a person would actually walk through the space. One approach suggests a straightforward route where a person entering from the east of the outer courtyard and turning north would simply find these chambers standing in the outer courtyard. They would be located right against the eastern wall of the inner courtyard, directly across from the Gizrah and the building [רש״י].

However, another perspective describes a much more complex architectural layout that creates a real navigational challenge. Due to uneven wall lines and protruding structures across the different courtyards, walking in a straight line from east to west would be impossible. A person attempting this direct route would run into the walls of other chambers that completely block the passage. To reach the chambers facing the Gizrah from the east, a person would have to detour southward toward a specific opening left at the edge of the wall. Only by walking through this passage within the width of the wall itself could they bypass the obstruction and finally arrive at their destination [מלבי״ם].
