Pressing for specifics, the prophet seeks to uncover exactly what these visitors were shown behind closed doors. In response, Hezekiah answers with complete transparency, openly detailing the full extent to which he exposed his royal treasures.

Hezekiah's absolute honesty and willingness to reveal his wealth stem from his profound respect for these messengers, who had traveled from a distant land. He held them in such high regard that he viewed them almost as angels. Because of this deep reverence, he felt no need to hold anything back, willingly displaying his entire wealth and property to his guests [מלבי״ם].
