Psalms 35:27Sefaria

The triumph of justice and Divine providence creates a profound turning point, where the downfall of the wicked clears the path for the joy of those who love good. In stark contrast to the cruel enemies who celebrate misfortune and are destined for shame, the focus shifts to a positive vision of those who support justice These supporters are the righteous individuals [אלשיך, מלבי״ם] who deeply desire to see the honest vindication of the one being judged [רד״ק, אלשיך]. Alternatively, they are the people who actively hope that he will receive true justice and kindness directly from God [מצודת דוד].

Filled with gladness, these loyal supporters will constantly voice their praise, declaring that God should be magnified. This constant call to elevate God serves as a direct counterweight to the arrogant enemies who previously elevated themselves in pride [אבן עזרא]. Beyond just a declaration, the very act of Divine providence magnifies God's presence in the world. When God protects those who serve Him and grants them peace, His own glory is naturally amplified [מלבי״ם].

As for the identity of the servant who receives this divine peace and protection, the primary approach among commentators is that it refers to King David. God desired his well-being, rescued him from his haters, and brought success to his path However, another perspective broadens this concept entirely, suggesting that the servant represents the whole Israelite nation, much like other prophetic references to the nation as God's servant [מאירי].
