One of the brothers, Ohad, carries a unique legacy. His family line completely died out, either during the time the Israelites spent in Egypt or while they wandered in the desert. Because this branch of the family did not survive, he is entirely absent from the later census of the nation [אבן עזרא, ביאור יש״ר]. Another brother, Zohar, appears in other historical records under the name Zerah. These two names refer to the same person, as they share an identical root meaning [אבן עזרא, ביאור יש״ר].

Finally, the heritage of the last son, Shaul, sets him apart from the rest of his brothers. He is specifically identified by his mother's Canaanite background. This prominent detail emphasizes his unusual status within the family landscape, marking him as a distinct exception among the siblings [ביאור שטיינזלץ].
