The military conflict between the Kingdom of Israel and Judah ended in a severe defeat for the south. While the victory did not result in a complete takeover of the country, the battles ended with a clear and decisive outcome, allowing the northern army to seize a great deal of loot and take many prisoners [ביאור שטיינזלץ].
The human toll reached two hundred thousand captives. This group included women, as well as young boys and girls [מצודת דוד]. The victorious army then marched all of these prisoners, along with their newly plundered wealth, back to Samaria.
