The meeting between the king and the landowner unfolds as David advances directly toward the area where Ornan is located. He travels until he reaches the immediate vicinity of the threshing floor [מצודת דוד].

As soon as Ornan catches sight of the approaching king, he steps out from the threshing floor to receive him. Recognizing the royal presence, Ornan immediately bows down, pressing his face completely to the earth.
