יחזקאל, פרק ל״ה, פסוק ח׳

The impending destruction destined for Edom is absolute, designed to encompass every corner of the land and leave no safe haven for its people. The decreed punishment for the nation is not exile, but rather a massive slaughter. Even after the initial conquest ends, the killing of the land's inhabitants will continue relentlessly [מלבי״ם]. Those who attempt to flee and seek refuge in the high mountains will find no safety, as the enemy will pursue and strike them down even there [מצודת דוד].

This massacre will not be confined to the elevated battlegrounds, but will instead spread out in every direction [מלבי״ם]. The devastation will reach the lower hills, the deep valleys and passes situated between them, and even the strong-flowing streams and riverbeds [מצודת ציון, ביאור שטיינזלץ].
