He chose to follow the exact path his father, Manasseh, walked during his earliest and darkest years of leadership. Rather than learning from the end of his father's life—a time marked by genuine change and the correction of past wrongs—Amon completely ignored this period of repair. Instead, he embraced the original wickedness of his father's early days, actively choosing to return to the worship of the very same idols.
