Rather, it was a deliberate return to the original system of shifts that had been established and arranged during the times of David and Solomon [רלב״ג].

He actively urged and encouraged them, ensuring that they would carry out their duties in the Temple with speed, proper care, and consistency [רלב״ג]. At the same time, this encouragement carried a serious tone, as he warned them to be strictly careful in performing the service of God exactly according to the proper laws [מצודת דוד].
