Solomon prepared the complete set of sacred vessels designated for holy service. All of these carefully crafted items belonged to and were used inside God's house. Among the essential pieces he created were the golden altar and the tables meant for the showbread. The historical record here notably mentions multiple tables, a unique detail given that the parallel account in the Book of Kings mentions only a single table [מלבי ם].

The primary approach among commentators is that the priests actively arranged and set the showbread upon all of these newly crafted tables [מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. However, another perspective maintains that the showbread was actually only ever placed on the original table crafted by Moses. According to this view, Solomon did not place bread on all his new tables in practice. Instead, he built them to the exact holy standards required, making them fully fit and designated to hold the sacred bread if it was ever needed [מלבי ם].
