The ancient scribal tradition preserves a rare feature regarding the recording of his tribal identity. While his affiliation is written in the text as a single continuous word, it is traditionally read aloud as two separate words. This unique textual phenomenon is highly unusual, appearing only fifteen times throughout the entire Bible [מנחת שי].
