I Chronicles 27:4Sefaria

וְעַ֞ל מַחֲלֹ֣קֶת ׀ הַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשֵּׁנִ֗י דּוֹדַ֤י הָֽאֲחוֹחִי֙ וּמַ֣חֲלֻקְתּ֔וֹ וּמִקְל֖וֹת הַנָּגִ֑יד וְעַל֙ מַחֲלֻקְתּ֔וֹ עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֖ה אָֽלֶף׃ {ס}

Organizing the military divisions for the second month required strong and collaborative leadership. The primary commander appointed over this unit was Dodai the Ahohite, identified as Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite, who is recognized elsewhere as one of David’s mighty warriors [רלב״ג].

Leadership of this unit was not a solitary task, as the troops were managed by a commander alongside a deputy. Dodai was joined by another high-ranking official, Miklot the leader. The primary approach among commentators is that Miklot acted as Dodai's partner, actively assisting him in guiding the fighters. However, an alternative perspective suggests a succession rather than a joint command, proposing that Miklot eventually replaced Dodai and took over the division after him [רלב״ג].

A subtle detail surrounds Miklot's exact name and his formal connection to the unit. Some scholars maintain that his actual given name was Umiklot [מצודת ציון, מלבי״ם]. Conversely, others understand the prefix of his recorded name merely as a conjunction. In this view, his name was simply Miklot, and the record indicates that Dodai's division was also under the authority of Miklot the leader [רלב״ג].
