Following false promises ultimately leads to ruin and destruction. God makes it absolutely clear that He did not send the individuals who claim to speak in His name. Their messages are entirely fabricated, and trusting them will bring about a devastating outcome. As a direct result of these lies, God will remove the people from their homeland and send them away into exile.

The deception spread by these individuals guarantees a tragic fate, ensuring that both the prophets who spread the lies and the citizens who believe them will perish together in captivity. However, a practical and safe alternative exists. If the people reject these comforting falsehoods and instead accept the burden of foreign rule, they can avoid disaster. By agreeing to pay taxes and submit to subjugation, they will be allowed to remain peacefully in their own land [מצודת דוד].
