Rather than admitting her true intentions, she attempts to frame her previous actions as a simple test of his love for her [אברבנאל].

To press him further, she presents a calculated and logical argument. She explains that initially, she might have believed he truly did not know the source of his immense strength. However, the moment he admitted that a method to bind him actually exists and provided her with detailed instructions, he proved that he does indeed hold the secret. With this established, she questions why he would choose to deceive her [מלבי״ם].

Building on this logic, she demands that he finally reveal the absolute truth about how he can be captured [מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. Her compelling argument effectively corners Samson, forcing him to respond. In his subsequent answer, he attempts to defend himself by claiming that he never lied during their first exchange, but simply forgot to mention a specific condition necessary for the binding to be successful [אברבנאל].
