A dramatic shift in the national and international standing of the Israelites is promised for the future. A harsh history of curses and public disgrace will be replaced by a level of prosperity that will amaze the entire world. Instead of suffering from famine and bearing shame among the nations, the Israelites will be universally recognized as happy, successful, and deeply blessed [רד״ק, צאינה וראינה]. All the nations of the world will offer them great praise, commendation, and encouragement [מצודת דוד, מצודת ציון, מלבי״ם, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. This worldwide admiration carries a profound weight. While receiving praise from a friend is common, earning such high praise directly from former enemies is an extraordinary and rare honor [צאינה וראינה].

The root of this international respect stems from the promise that their home will become a land of absolute delight. Commentators offer two main ways to understand the nature of this delight. One approach views it from God's perspective, explaining that it is a land God actively desires, chooses, and watches over in order to bestow His blessings, just as He deeply desires the people who live there [רש״י, אבן עזרא, מלבי״ם]. On a spiritual level, it will be a place where the Divine Presence rests and where the Israelites actively fulfill God's will [רד״ק].

A second perspective focuses on the physical quality of the land and the well-being of its people. According to this view, the land itself will become inherently wonderful and special [ביאור שטיינזלץ], yielding an abundance of agricultural produce [רד״ק]. Because of this tremendous success, the land will satisfy every possible need and desire of its inhabitants, ensuring that they will never lack a single thing [מצודת דוד, מצודת ציון].
