A vision of the end of days often carries a deep sense of universal unity, where all of humanity joins together to recognize and serve God. The primary approach among commentators is that this future era of redemption will bring a profound shift in the world's spiritual landscape. Although many nations are currently lost in idolatry, a time will come when they will all believe in God, call upon His name, and unite to serve Him as one [רד״ק, מצודת דוד, מאירי].

During this future awakening, the nations will realize that God is their maker. Understanding that He is the Lord of everything [אלשיך], they will see that it is only right to come and bow before Him [רד״ק, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. This will be an exclusive recognition of His kingship. They will direct their honor solely toward God, leaving behind any other deities they once worshipped [רד״ק].

Alternatively, this global gathering can be connected to a much closer and more personal event regarding the individual salvation of the singer. According to this perspective, the nations will observe the deep distress of this poor and needy person. When they later witness the divine rescue he receives, they will share the story with others. It is this powerful testimony of personal salvation that will ultimately lead the nations to come and honor God [אבן עזרא].
