Exodus 27:11Sefaria

The construction of the Tabernacle courtyard followed a precise and symmetrical design, ensuring that its northern boundary perfectly mirrored its southern counterpart [קאסוטו]. Along this northern side, twenty pillars stood to support the fabric hangings. The spacing between each of these pillars was exactly five cubits This measurement did not merely define the empty span of air between the posts; it accounted for the entire distance from one pillar to the next, including the physical thickness of the pillars themselves, which measured three handbreadths across [פענח רזא].

While the architectural instructions laid out at this stage are highly detailed, they leave out certain elements of the courtyard's construction that are only revealed in later accounts. Specifically, the exact material used to craft the pillars and the silver overlay that capped their tops are initially omitted [פענח רזא].

To secure the hangings, bent silver pegs were attached to the pillars. The loops of the fabric were threaded directly onto these hooks to keep the courtyard walls firmly in place. The physical shape of these silver hooks carries historical significance, serving as evidence for a tradition that the Hebrew alphabet has remained entirely unchanged since the days of Moses. Because the physical hooks in the Tabernacle were fashioned as bent clasps, they perfectly mirror the shape of the Hebrew letter 'vav,' which shares the same name. This connection demonstrates that the original shape of the letters used to record the Torah was exactly the same as the script known today [תורה תמימה].
