Setting up the inner sanctuary of the Tabernacle required careful attention to detail. The placement of the golden altar was carried out with exact precision, strictly following the earlier instructions given to Moses [קאסוטו].

The altar was positioned directly in front of the dividing curtain, sitting exactly in the middle space between the table and the menorah [ביאור שטיינזלץ]. However, these three sacred items did not form a perfectly straight line across the room. Instead, the altar was deliberately placed so that it was pulled slightly outward toward the entrance, standing just ahead of the table and the menorah [העמק דבר, ביאור שטיינזלץ].
