The ultimate control over the world's material riches rests entirely in the hands of the Creator. The primary approach among commentators highlights that all wealth on earth, regardless of who currently possesses it, actually belongs to God and remains fully under His authority. Because He is the true owner, He holds the absolute power to take riches from one person and transfer them to another exactly as He sees fit [רש״י, רד״ק].

Since all material abundance is ultimately His, it is only right and proper that this wealth be directed toward the Temple [ביאור שטיינזלץ]. To ensure this vast abundance reaches its rightful place, God will bring about a profound change. He will miraculously inspire the nations, placing a deep desire within their hearts to take their silver and gold and bring it directly to Jerusalem [אבן עזרא, רד״ק, מצודת דוד].

This movement of wealth is not merely a physical transfer, but a step toward a global awakening. As the nations act on this newfound desire, they will come to a profound realization on their own. They will understand that all earthly wealth truly belongs to God alone, prompting them to willingly return their riches to the true Master of all things [מלבי״ם].
