The total tranquility that followed was experienced on two parallel levels, both at home and abroad. On the domestic front, the government enjoyed complete stability. There were no longer any challengers threatening the throne [מצודת דוד], and a deep sense of quiet spread throughout the entire country, ensuring a peaceful life for everyone within its borders [מלבי״ם].

Beyond the borders, an equal measure of security prevailed. God granted the nation complete rest, ensuring that none of the neighboring countries surrounding the land of Israel posed any threat [מלבי״ם]. Through His protection, the constant fear of foreign conflict was entirely removed, allowing the kingdom to thrive in complete safety.
