A crushing famine reaches a breaking point, bringing severe suffering to the residents. By the fourth month, the month of Tammuz, the food shortage hits its absolute peak.

The crisis does not affect everyone equally. The ordinary residents of the city find themselves completely without bread, bearing the heaviest burden of the starvation. The devastating impact falls squarely on the everyday masses, while the city's leaders and wealthy elite likely still hold on to whatever small supplies of food remain within their homes.
