True perfection in mind and action belongs exclusively to the Creator. While people spend their lives gaining experience and learning, the absolute source of all intellect and strength rests entirely with God. He guides the world according to His supreme wisdom. This wisdom and power are not acquired from any outside source; they are an inseparable part of His very nature.
God is the primary source of all knowledge, and human intellect is not completely separate from His. Rather, all human knowledge flows directly from Him [מלבי״ם]. Because of this deep connection, any ability a person has to offer good advice or grasp complex ideas actually originates from, and belongs to, the Creator [מצודת דוד].
Recognizing God's absolute superiority leads to the understanding that He guides the world exactly as His own wisdom requires. He acts according to His own grand design, not according to human expectations or our limited grasp of reality [תקות אנוש]. Because of the vast gap between human and Divine wisdom, no person can avoid His plans through their own intellect or physical strength. God can bring sudden events into a person's life without giving them any time to prepare or even understand what is taking place [רמב״ן].
Within the realm of intellect, there are distinct levels. Basic wisdom is the foundational knowledge a person receives. A higher level of understanding exists, which is the mental ability to draw new conclusions from that basic knowledge. Furthermore, while the concept of advice is usually tied to practical actions and real-world steps, true understanding operates more in the realm of deep thought and theory [מלבי״ם].
