Job 12:19Sefaria

God’s governance of the world includes the absolute power to overturn established social orders, dismantling the authority of the most entrenched leaders and powerful figures. The primary approach among commentators is that the dignitaries whose lives are upended are not religious clerics, but rather the ministers, secular leaders, and top officials of any nation. God strips these individuals of their wealth, property, and honor, leaving them to walk alone, completely deprived of their former status and power Alternatively, some view these figures literally as religious priests who are accustomed to walking in the glory of their own wisdom. They may act as spiritual guides attempting to control the masses through faith, yet God foils their plans and leads them astray [מלבי"ם, תקות אנוש].

Alongside these officials are the mighty and forceful individuals, whose dominance stems from physical strength, vast wealth, or high social standing. God disrupts and distorts their paths. He prevents them from acting logically or fighting effectively, intentionally steering their course toward destruction

A unique interpretation connects these events directly to the splitting of the Red Sea. In this view, the servants of God are the Israelites, whom God led safely through a seabed that had been entirely stripped of its waters. The mighty forces represent either the pursuing Egyptian army or the fierce waters themselves. God disrupted the path of the pursuers, ensuring that the sea returned to drown only the Egyptian camp [אלשיך].
