The natural world, with all its many parts, stands as a clear and living witness to God's providence and wisdom. To ignore this reality is simply foolish. Anyone who observes nature should easily recognize this truth; only a person lacking understanding would fail to see God's infinite wisdom reflected in the world around them [מצודת דוד].
Yet, this awareness is not limited to human observers. The animals and the simplest creatures of the earth possess a form of knowledge as well. Their very existence testifies that they have no free will or independent ability to act. Instead, every movement they make is entirely dictated by the instincts and nature that God placed within them [מלבי״ם]. In truth, every created thing, whether living or lifeless, recognizes that the guidance of the world flows completely from God's will [תקות אנוש].
Every single thing that exists in the universe is the direct work of His hand [ביאור שטיינזלץ]. The sheer fact that life exists and that species continue to survive is absolute proof of God's general care over the earth. He is the one doing everything, even when a person might look at their own specific circumstances and feel that there is unfairness or injustice [רמב״ן]. The ways God guides the world are often hidden from human understanding. While events might sometimes appear chaotic to us, everything actually stems from the absolute and incomprehensible will of the Creator [תקות אנוש].
Beyond this broad view of the universe, there is also a deeply personal reality connected to intense suffering. The exact same divine wonder that sustains the entire world is the force that sustains a suffering individual. The evidence seen in nature proves that it is God's hand miraculously holding the soul inside the body, preventing death even when a person is physically broken and completely drained of life [אלשיך].
