Within this group of settlements, certain names appear in immediate sequence. Even though Gederoth and Beth-dagon are listed right next to each other, they do not represent a single city with a double name. Rather, they are two entirely separate towns, one being Gederoth and the other Beth-dagon [מצודת דוד].
