The long journey of the Israelites through the desert is documented through various geographical records across the Torah. Tracking their exact movements often requires connecting different names that refer to the very same locations. For example, the desert encampment at Divon Gad is actually the exact same stop identified earlier in the Torah as the Zered Brook [חזקוני].

Identifying these ancient stations can sometimes be complex due to shifting historical names. When tracing the departure from Iyim, early Aramaic records reveal different traditions. Some ancient texts preserve the original name of the location, while others document it under a translated name, matching the title of the station visited just before it. Among these early records, there remains no definitive conclusion as to which ancient name is the most accurate reflection of the historical stop [אוהב גר].
