תהלים, פרק פ״ג, פסוק י״ט

Psalms 83:19Sefaria

וְֽיֵדְע֗וּ כִּי־אַתָּ֬ה שִׁמְךָ֣ יְהֹוָ֣ה לְבַדֶּ֑ךָ עֶ֝לְי֗וֹן עַל־כׇּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ {פ}

Human awareness will eventually reach a turning point where all people recognize the absolute nature of God's rule. The primary approach among commentators is that the ultimate goal of this future clarity is the complete removal of belief in any other powers. Humanity will come to understand that God is the single, exclusive force operating within reality, and that He alone holds this divine status [אבן עזרא]. Recognizing this means understanding that He alone is worthy of a title signifying total authority, leaving no room for any other god or independent force [רד״ק, מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ].

Unlike human kings who constantly rely on military generals and advisors to maintain their power, God acts and subdues His enemies entirely on His own. He requires no assistance from heavenly ministers or human armies [אלשיך]. His position as the supreme authority is not a relative status where a higher power could theoretically exist. Instead, it is an absolute supremacy; He is the ultimate cause with absolutely no force above Him [מלבי״ם].

Yet, despite this exalted and infinite status, His rule extends directly over the physical world. This highlights a profound reality: even in times of exile and darkness, when God might appear distant or removed from human affairs, His active providence and glory continue to guide and manage the entire earth. This level of earthly involvement is not merely a promise for a future, perfected world, but a constant truth that operates fully even in the present day [אלשיך].
