A king relies on trusted officials to carry out his most important orders. To ensure his command is delivered properly, he forms a special delegation made up of the most prominent individuals from his royal court.

Among these chosen messengers is a man named Abdon the son of Micah. Historical records of this same event in the Book of Kings refer to him as Achbor. Rather than viewing this as a contradiction or a reference to two different men, it is understood that this is the exact same person, who was simply known by both names [רלב״ג, מצודת ציון].

Another key figure in this royal group is Asaiah, who is identified as the king's servant. This title does not imply a lowly status, but rather highlights a senior position within the royal administration. It is highly likely that he served as the chief overseer in charge of managing the work [ביאור שטיינזלץ].
