מלכים א, פרק ג׳, פסוק י״ג

God rewards Solomon not only with the wisdom he requested but also with the great benefits he did not think to ask for himself. He is granted both wealth and honor in equal measure, with each blessing given to him in absolute abundance [רד״ק]. God assures him a unique status, promising that no king will ever match this wealth and honor. By establishing that Solomon will have no rival among royalty, it becomes obvious that no ordinary person could possibly compare to him either [רד״ק].

The timeframe of His promise carries a dual meaning [מצודת דוד]. On a personal level, it serves as a guarantee that Solomon will enjoy this vast wealth and honor throughout his entire life. Alternatively, the timeframe can be understood as a specific limit on the comparison itself. Under this view, Solomon will remain completely unmatched by any other king while he is alive, though it remains possible that a ruler of equal stature could appear after his death.
