Even after initially turning to go his own way, Samuel eventually yields to the king's pleas. His decision to turn back and follow Saul does not signal a change in his prophetic message or a reversal of his previous stance.

Instead, the choice to accompany the king is a practical and political concession. By walking alongside him, Samuel prevents Saul from suffering public humiliation. Following this gesture, Saul bows down to God.
