איוב, פרק ט׳, פסוק י׳

Job 9:10Sefaria

עֹשֶׂ֣ה גְ֭דֹלוֹת עַד־אֵ֣ין חֵ֑קֶר וְ֝נִפְלָא֗וֹת עַד־אֵ֥ין מִסְפָּֽר׃

God's greatness is expressed through an infinite stream of actions that sustain and shape all of reality. From the initial formation of the universe to the quiet, everyday management of the world, His power is constantly at work. While certain specific acts of God are often highlighted, there is a much larger realm of divine actions and forces that remain entirely unseen and unspoken [תקות אנוש].

Many of these actions are so profoundly elevated that human beings simply cannot investigate or understand them. Alongside this depth is an overwhelming volume of activity, with so many wonders taking place that it becomes entirely impossible to count them [מצודת דוד, ביאור שטיינזלץ]. There is also a deep connection between the natural world and the miraculous. The grand acts of God form the very foundation of creation and the laws of nature, while His wonders represent the moments He steps in to change those established laws. This ability to alter nature serves as the clearest proof that God is the Creator. Only the One who built the system has the authority and power to change it according to His will [אלשיך]. Furthermore, these extraordinary powers and shifts in nature are not just events of the distant past. They are renewed every single day, continuously impacting human lives and the rest of the created world [תקות אנוש].

Taking a step back to look at the grandest scale, God operates within a vast system of countless worlds. In a structure of this magnitude, even massive celestial bodies like the sun and the stars are practically insignificant. When viewed from this universal perspective, the loss or damage of any specific detail within reality is not considered an evil or a flaw. Rather, it is simply a small part of the complete and perfect design of the entire creation [מלבי״ם].
