The adulterous woman uses smooth, calculated language to convince her victim to surrender completely to temptation. She assures him that her husband is far away, guaranteeing that no one will interrupt or prevent their actions [רלב״ג, אמרי דעת].

The primary approach among commentators is that the ultimate goal of her persuasion is a total immersion in physical pleasure and joy. She speaks of satisfying their desires by drinking deeply from the experience until they are completely full [מצודת דוד, עמנואל הרומי]. Her promises revolve around engaging in the playful delights of romance [אבן עזרא, ביאור שטיינזלץ, עמנואל הרומי] and rejoicing together in gladness [מצודת ציון, עמנואל הרומי].

Regarding the exact nature of her seduction, there are two distinct ways to understand her approach. One perspective views her words as a careful tactic to calm the young man and make the sin appear minor. According to this view, she frames her invitation as a simple offer to playfully enjoy each other's company without committing to a full physical union. However, this is merely a trap; she knows perfectly well that once he takes the first step and follows her, he will be unable to stop himself from completing the act [אלשיך]. In contrast, another approach suggests that her intentions are completely open and escalate quickly. Rather than hiding her true goal, she explicitly moves past the idea of mere playful romance, making it entirely clear that she is inviting him directly to the physical act of intimacy [מלבי״ם].
