The acquisition of this specific territory represents a special and unexpected act of kindness from God, as it completely departed from the original plan for the Israelite conquest. When the Israelites first arrived in the region, they had no intention of capturing it. Their only request was simply for permission to pass peacefully through the borders of the local kings [מצודת דוד].

Furthermore, the gift of these particular lands was never included in the original covenant made with the forefathers [אבן עזרא]. The region was not intended to serve as the primary estate for the people [אלשיך]. Yet, despite the fact that this territory fell outside the original design and the Israelites merely sought a path to travel through, God transformed the area into a permanent, everlasting inheritance for them [אבן עזרא, אלשיך].
