Psalms 144:13Sefaria

Divine blessing transforms the physical world, manifesting in an era of unprecedented agricultural and economic prosperity that encompasses both the harvest and the livestock. Typically, harvested grain is gathered in the center of a room. However, the prosperity described is so overwhelming that the crops spill over, packing into the very corners and edges of the storehouses Poetically, these storage rooms are portrayed as though they are actively generating and pouring forth this endless bounty themselves

Commentators offer two distinct ways to understand the nature of this overflowing harvest. One perspective suggests a blessing of diversity, where the storehouses are filled with a rich variety of crops, such as wheat and barley. The sheer volume of the harvest causes these different species to spill over and mix together Another approach views this as a blessing of continuous sustenance. In this light, the harvest provides an unbroken chain of food supply, easily sustaining the people from one gathering season to the exact same time the following year without any shortage The abundance is so profound that owners are forced to empty their storehouses of the old grain simply to make room for the new [אלשיך].

Beyond the produce of the earth, the blessing extends to the flocks. The animals experience rapid and massive growth, giving birth to thousands and tens of thousands in a remarkably short period These multiplying flocks spill out to fill the streets and village squares [רד״ק, שטיינזלץ]. The very presence of defenseless sheep roaming freely in open spaces carries a deeper significance. Normally, these outer areas are dangerous and filled with lurking predators. Their safety in the open indicates an ideal, tranquil reality where the threat of wild beasts has been entirely removed from the land, echoing the promises of the Messianic age [אלשיך].
