Ezekiel 48:1Sefaria

A prophetic vision of the future gathering of the exiles reveals a completely new division of the Land of Israel, one that contrasts sharply with the original distribution during the days of Joshua [אברבנאל]. Rather than allocating territory based on the population size of each tribe, the land will be divided into thirteen perfectly equal horizontal strips. Twelve of these strips are designated for the tribes, while one central strip is entirely dedicated to God, the Temple, and Jerusalem. This arrangement ensures that every tribe receives an equal share of holiness, eliminating any class differences [אברבנאל].

The new geographic order of inheritance begins at the extreme northern border of the land The boundary line runs near the road leading to Hethlon and Hamath, continuing toward Hazar-enan near the border of Damascus The first tribe to receive this northernmost portion is Dan, reflecting its historical settlement in the north [מלבי״ם, שטיינזלץ]. However, in this future era, the borders of the land will expand significantly to the north, east up to Damascus, and northwest. All of these newly added territories will become part of Dan's inheritance [מלבי״ם].

The shape of Dan's territory forms a continuous strip of land stretching from the eastern edge of the country all the way to the Mediterranean Sea in the west While the massive length from east to west is detailed, the exact width of the tribal portions is not explicitly mentioned [רש״י, רד״ק]. The primary approach among commentators is that the width of each tribe's strip is derived from the measurements of the central holy portion, setting it at twenty-five thousand reeds, or approximately seventy-five miles. This specific geometric design guarantees that all the tribal territories will lie side by side as perfectly equal strips in both length and width.
